Those first photos were from over a year ago. I'm looking to make a very fast hot rod. Here's a few more from when I went to look at it. Inside was packed full of parts Orignally a 250 six, previous owner had "good intentions." That steering wheel has come back to haunt me. The '69 Mustang I had that I never did anything with had the same one. Hated it then too. Just not for me.
Some photos after I got it home and got it cleaned out. I have no idea what the seats are out of. They're welded in. There's lots of custom work like that done. Pay attention to the rear bumper.
Wow that guy loved spray paint and messing up cars thats really good of you to restore this idiots work because i know alot wouldnt put that much effort and would scrap it.
Just like some people shouldn't be allowed to use tools, there are some that shouldn't be allowed to use spray paint. Here's some more photos shortly after I got it home. Engine is straight out of '91 Mustang, pan and all. Note the custom engine mounts. Also was not bolted to the tranny properly (hmmm, wrong flexplate?).
After about 6 months of rounding up engine mount brackets, intake, exhaust manifolds, accessory brackets, and late model Mustang wheels. Front bumper is held on by zip ties (no brackets yet), I straightened the rear bumper quite a bit, moved it up to where it's supposed to be. I have the wrong brackets here, it sticks out too far.
Thanks for the compliments! I still have a long way to go but certainly more presentable. I can't believe what a difference a good set of wheels makes!
Here it is in its current state. New leaf's and correct shackles, 9" rear from a '73 Mustang, disc brakes on all 4 corners. Rear bumper has correct brackets, removed bumper guards, correct rear 1/4 caps, rear valence installed and license place mounted properly. I made brackets for the front bumper. Put a cheap coat of tractor supply paint to cover the primer until I can give the body more attention. Hard to believe I've had it for 13 months now!
Great job on the car. Did you have to modify the 9" rear end or did it fit ok as is? I thought they were too wide for a Maverick. Where in Fl are you located? Jim
Ahh yes grasshopper, you are correct! Those wheels are from an '08 convertible Mustang. Before I swapped the axles I had to run spacers behind them. The axle fits fine, it's just wider than stock but since I have late model wheels everything's ok. I still have spacers behind the front wheels though. I'm in Deltona, about a 2 hr drive from you.
