No they will not. And then we get blasted for sensorship and create hard feelings with the message poster that has been deleted.

That is why it (the power of reporting a post) should be used only when really needed.

    Example when to report:
There is a discussion going about sway bars. Out of the clear blue, somebody posts that they are looking to buy a carburator for their Comet. This is a great one to report. Way off topic and it needs to be moved to the wanted board. This is the time to use your power of reporting a post.

    Example when NOT to report:
There is a discussion going about sway bars. Someone posts a picture of their car showing how the sway bar that they put on is mounted. Somebody then posts how much they like the color of the car in the picture. While not a sway bar comment, it is in line with what is going on in the thread AND SHOULD NOT be reported as a problem.

Reported posts should be about real problems and not minor infractions.

    :tiphat:

Sounds like a thread jacking is about to occur. The next post on this thread will be about the color options and paint code of the car. The thread is no longer about the sway bar but about specific paint codes. Can we report these so that a mod can move that conversation to a new thread?

Yes, if the color of the car becomes the main course of conversation, then it can be moved into a thread of its own. But let me ask you this. What if the OP (original poster) joins into the color conversation. It is their thread and they are now part of the thread-jack. Does this negate the thread-jack? I would say so, as the OP, by posting into the thread change, has now validated it and made it a part of his or her thread. Others will still say the thread is now off topic. It is a fine line sometimes .... :)

    My bottom line is:
All of you, need to make your best effort, to help us run a good board. You can do this by posting on topic in threads you did not start - and when starting a thread please at least TRY and get it into the correct forum instead of just starting it out in the general forum.

Im going to look into the infraction system and will see how it works.

Just because a post is reported, action may not be taken. Some people will report just about anything and some like to report posts only made by certain members. The moderators and my self will make the final decision whether a post gets removed or moved.
