ok, I just got my hands on a 1991 Lincoln mark, it has a 5.0 ho and aod.
my 74 comet has a 200 ci and c4 trans that’s slipping. so I was thinking about swapping the 5.0 and aod into the comet.
I was wondering if I swap the efi to 2bbl carb run an electric fuel pump would I still need to run a regular rotation water pump?
also the comet has manual brakes and steering, and no a/c so if I get ac, smog, and power steering delete pulleys could I still run that alternator?
also do I need to swap the ignition to a v8 ignition? I know I need a steel geared dizzy but what kind? any other things that might need changed?

Lots of questions here so lets take it one at a time.
You can use the reverse rotation pump as long as you keep the same style belt.
You can get the delete pulleys or a shorter belt but you will need the alternator from the 5.0 or at least a new pulley.
All you need is a distributor for the 5.0 and if you are running the roller cam then you need to make sure you get the steel gear meant for the harder cam.
You will need a new crossmember to mount the AOD.
You might need a shorter driveshaft or have yours cut to fit.
For the best performance and fuel economy you may wish to change the rear gears to 3.70 or higher.
You may want to give Jay at Broader performance a call and see if he has a valve body that will help your new transmission live a while longer.
You WILL need a large cooler for the transmission.

If you swap to a carb you will also need to convert the TV cable on the tranmission to run off your carb's linkage. Lokar has everything to do that.

I plan on doing this as cheap as I can, just to make a nice daily driver
so the TV cable I was going to use (if it fits) is from a 1982 thunderbird, it had a two bbl carb and a aod so it should work, I imagine any way.

I haven’t taken the Lincoln apart and its all there it runs and drives, so I have the dizzy and alternator, but how would I wire the two up in the comet?

71 gold, I will be talking to you when im ready for the install thanks!

    thanks for the replies

Don't use the Lokar cable, it's actually junk. I've been having issues with my AOD, we swapped it with a 5.0L stock Mustang cable, and it's working awesome!!
