8306 is the number i bought for my maverick also. I haven't installed them yet because i just got the car back from the body shop. According to the previous chart i posted they should be correct.
After going to that page you can compare the part number to this page for more detail about the spring http://bbb-carb.com/moog_Coil_Springs.htm
8306 is the one advanced sells for 71 mavericks with ac. It has something like a 1560 load and is 1.3" longer than the the one they sell for 71 mav without ac. Or so the dude at the store told me over the phone. The without ac spring is like a 1530 or 1500 load. I'd be careful you don't run into my problem with the 8306 - it's very annoying and disappointing. I was hoping to do a cut or clamp of my springs in the future for fun and now I have to do it to be normal On top of which, the 8306 is used for 67-73 mustangs. According to my 1963-1974 ford parts interchange manual they are not interchangeable with mavericks. It says a 70-74 mav wants the coil springs from a 65-66 mustang, 60-65 comet, 71-77 comet, or 60-65 falcon. Can't swear by the book because I just started using it, but it looks official Hope that helps..
just to clarify. my springs were TRW if that makes a difference. The free height seems to be exactly the same as the moog 8306. Idk how reliable that chart is supposed to be but I can tell you it's poopie if they are the same as TRW (as I gaze at the horribly wretched camber of my poor little maverick). My sister described looking at the front like looking at a baby animal try to walk right after it was born.... I can't tell you for sure what you should do, but research that one alil more cuz 8306's only caused problems to spring up for me.
If you still have the car up in the air, the shocks probably won't rteach the top perch. Lower ther car to the ground. that raises the control arm and also the shock. should bolt right up
cut a link or two out.. it will lower the stance, and make it look better and clean up the wheel well gap at the same time.
naw, I had lowered the car down already. It didn't reach. I put a spring clamp type shackle thingy on each side of the spring. It worked somewhat. The shock reaches now. The camber is still alil off but it doesn't make the car look like it's drying out from a week of binge drinking and drugs anymore. The thing just looked depressed with its camber out of whack. I'm guessing there is a way to make minor adjustments to camber other than tightening the springs anymore. I did manage to get the body painted yesterday . I paint the doors today and will post pics when I get the whole thing back assembled.
dude! I just went out to look at it. I original thought those were just bada** washers when I was changing the arm lol. I'm gonna play with those when I wake up tomorrow. Thnx!
I check out the part number on my spring box last nite. Its not 8306 as posted earlier its 8304. I have a 250 with air but I bought the 302 w/air springs since I will put a v8 in the car down the road at some time. I quess I might be looking into the sky after they are installed ... (LOL ).
