Has anyone here used one? My car could use a new quarter panel and I am curious if it is decent or junk.
The Auto Krafters panels, are the same as Sherman/Cross Canada, they are just a skin, not a full quarter. The ones I saw, one side, the body line was much sharper than the other.
Hmm...they aren't matched side to side? I will eventually be in the market for some too and was considering the AK quarters. Do you know of another good source?
i'd recommend getting quarter panels through here: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=56628 might be cheaper than ak, and jim is a really nice guy to deal with.
I'll buy from whoever has the best deal - especially if it's from the same manufacturer. Does anyone have any pictures of the difference?
I bought mine from American muscle 400$ for both sides included shipping. Here are the before and after photos and the stages I went through.
I'm going to say he cut it down. They go all the way to the top of the quarter, but not to the edge of the trunk opening. They also go to the bottom edge of the quarter window ledge, but not all the way to the pinch weld at the window. They are useful for nothing more than skins, and the less you replace, the better off you are IMO. I didn't realize this until I had trimmed almost to the edge of the old quarter and I regretted it later. Still turned out nice, but I had to re-do a couple areas I would not have had to mess with otherwise.
