Anyone know anything about Chevy trucks?

I remember having to hack the DRAC on my Bravada when I did the V8 swap. Yep, that sure is better than just swapping out speedometer cable gears! ...Right?

 

do ya want a front body kit for it???? let me know before the meet we can make a deal

 

Mine was constant problems, the speedometer was always getting a bad connection. The part I need to replace comes out pretty easy it looks like. Even it if don't, I'm not spending 30 bucks again on another cluster just to have a working trip odometer.

Well, it wasn't really that bad. Thankfully I have pretty good soldering skills, and a good calculator.

Body kit? For this truck? Got any pics of this?

 

I have good soldering skills, but terrible math skills, so I got plenty of practice... I'm lost as to why they didn't just put DIP switches in the stupid thing.

 

I wasn't thinking about price when I suggested finding a new one.
I was just thinking easy of swapping and not chancing breaking anything.
I tried to swap mine, it looked easy and the soon as I started to use it, it turned less than a mile and quit. I hear a noise in the dash and when I took it back apart then wheel had split in half.

Maybe you'll have better luck. I don't blame you for not wanting to spend $30 just for a trip meter, it's not a vital gauge or anything

 

Yea, the split gear issue is why the odometer stopped in the original cluster.

Thanks, but I'll pass. I was just curious as to what a body kit for this truck would look like. Doesn't seem like it would be someone's first vehicle of choice to throw a body kit on.

 

Ive seen those bumper kits for stepsides that have the fiberglass running boards on them.

not my style however
