Oh how I've wanted one of these....last year they were selling for $300+ on Ebay every time I looked, Craig emailed me and told me about this one, I ended up getting it for about half of what they sold for...now I don't even want to open the wrapper!!!
Like Craig says, market sets the price. Last year their was probably several people looking for one at the same time, thus the price went up. I got my deluxe gas cap the same way, a lull when nobody was looking for one that much. I paid $36, when most of them were selling for $100+.......
I bought 3 in the last 24 months that I would consider show quality for less than $100. The wrapper doesn't mean much unless you leave it on a shelf.
Possible thread hijack - Didn't someone have a line on stainless ones from Brazil? Did that die? Nevertheless Dave - nice score! Cleaver
Congrats Dave.....trim molding always makes me think of Doug Bauer. He had the NOS piece for Darryl's car, he trailered it to Owensboro round-up and when he got to the hotel he put the hood trim on. Took the car off the trailer, drove to the dragstrip and got a rock/dent/chip in it in less than 10 miles.
yes geo was getting them and he said they stopped coming and he don't know why this was in april so he may have got a hold of him again
I've got one of the ones from Brazil. Nice piece, but it was $169. I saw them going higher, so I grabbed it.
Dave, save the wrapper and put the old trim piece in it. then you can sell it as...NOS w/some shelf damage...
