Maverick had under dash lights, you just need to find one in the wreckers that has them, they just wire into the drivers side door switch.

That's what I was thinkin' too. Finding a Maverick in a junkyard around here is like looking for Sasquatch though, and as yet the ones I've found were not well-optioned.

...I will find that though. Just like I will find my elusive Track-Loc 8" center section. Sooner or later it will be mine.

Yep. The first Maverick I got is an LDO and it has them. There's really nothing to them but they do the job.

Lots of '70s and '80s Lincolns and other Ford/Mercury cars had them too, very similar if not identical to the Maverick ones. They are white plastic with a metal bracket that grounds through the dash. I think I got mine from a Lincoln...

That's only with the light group option, right?

I think the 80's Crown Vics have the same one. There are still plenty of those to pick from. :yup:

Well, at long last I have a proper dome light. Long, long overdue. I pulled a perfect one from a '74 in the junk yard yesterday, mounted it last night. It took a massive leap of faith for me to make that first blind cut in my nice new headliner, but it all worked out. Looks like it's always been there.

Still have the map lights too. The car is adequately lit now. (y)
