Anyone know if there is a thread or article on here about the procedure of cutting the fenders out then building new lips? I've seen a couple cars like this though now I can't seem to find pictures to help me describe it. They sorta cut along where the ridge is that follows the wheel well then put big wheels and lower it down a whole bunch. I'd like to know how people are doing this. My thinking is that the easiest way to make them all the same is to find a vehicle with about the right size and radius of a wheel opening and cutting the lips and maybe like a quarter inch of fender off and grafting it in. Am I sorta on the right track?
There is another option that I've seen done more commonly than what you describe, it's called fender rolling or lip rolling. I have never seen it done but I have friends who have had it done to their car. It basically pushes the edges out. You can have it done or do it yourself. Eastwood used to sell one for cheap, basically attached to the bolt pattern of your axle and it literally pushes the edge of the fender out some.
Ya that's an option, I'm more interested in doing it for the look plus I was curious how people were doing it. I am mowing over wheel and tire ideas so I am exploring my options.

Actualy I thought "lip rolling" was rolling the inside edge up and leaving the origional shape of the outside untouched. It only gives 1/2" to 3/4" of clearance but also provides a smooth surface so that the tire isn't torn. I have only seen this done to the rears.

That is correct. The guys on another site I check out do this often because of their lower riders with wider tires. No one wants to peel rubber off the sidewalls or worse, blow the tires.
I just took a big hammer to get the rear wheel housing lips pushed in then I used a smaller one to smooth it all out... Sand, prime, then you're done lol

Probably 17's maybe up to 10.5 wide in the back but not sure yet. Also will probably try to put some fairly tall rubber on the back. It's not so much the fitment but the look that I'm after. If I don't cut the fenders I will likely go with 15's but I want big brakes so big wheels are necessary and they seem to look best with the fenders cut out like that. I've heard 10.5's will fit but even if they don't what I'll do is get the wheels/tires I want then make them fit haha.
I'll have to check that out and nope no "dubs" haha I'm not even sure if I can live with the 17's luckily I got probably at least till the end of winter to make up my mind.
