I know all factory Comet GT's came with blacked out grills and headlight bezels. Were all the tail light panels blacked out as well?

    Thanks

    Um...yes...

I just can't find an explanation for this pic. It's the only one that I have ever seen...possibly owner modified-it's a pic from the early 70's.

I think I remember some with argent (sp) the silver/grey ford color on some color combos when new. But not positive.

If I'm remembering correctly the tail panel matched the color of the stripes, just like the Grabber Mavericks.

My panel was black and the stripes were white. I also had no black on the hood in front of the scoop. No grill when I got it. It's a 73.

All Comet GT'S 71-72 model came with satin black tail panels. 73and up I cant tell you for sure. But you have to remember that back then the dealer would get you what ever you wanted no matter what it took.

    No

As Ronald said...who knows what the dealers did, but....I have seen only black hood stripes and tail panels on Comet GT's EXCEPT for that pic of the black '71 GT with argent stripes and argent tail panel.
(note: '71-'73 Mach I Mustangs came with argent stripes and argent tail panel paint...some of them??)

I have seen black and argent stripes only on '71/'72 cars personally.
On '73-'75 cars I have seen black, white, gold, orange and red stripes. I have not seen argent stripes on a '73-'75 GT. They may have made them??
I had someone tell me that they had a white '74 GT with blue interior and blue stripes. I have never seen any orange, red, white or gold taillight panels or hood stripes. I think they were always black.
