So, im also daydreaming about what color I'd paint my 74 Mav if I had the cash and was at that point in time that I was ready to go for the paint job. Here's my problem - my Mavs interior is called midnight blue (dark blue)....i cant seem to imagine what color would rock my world? My Mavs exterior color is called wind blue (ya, its light blue). I like the light blue, but man its ssssssssso old school 70's era!!! my original thought after buying the Mav was that I'd just re-do the interior in Black color that way when Im ready to paint it would be a heck of an easier decision HOWEVER after giving "that" alot of mulling over I am probably gonna just keep the dark blue interior since it would be costly and a big pain to re-do the interior PLUS my interior is SSSSSSSSSo nice that it would kinda be a shame to change it just to keep up with the exterior color choices. Now Im NOT crazy about the dark blue interior but maybe it will grow on me after time (LOL). I like alot of different colors for street machines and I usually like car colors that are NOT THE NORM....so like i said Ive been day dreaming and trying to decide on a cool color for my exterior. ANY SUGGESTIONS for really cool and "different" colors my Mav would look amazing in (to match up w/dark blue interior)? Im NOT a big fan of blue color anyways (even tho my blood runs blue) but Im not opposed to a unique shade of different kinda blue. IM OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS PLEASE FROM THE HELPFUL FORUMERS HERE. I look at the Gallery photos everyday and Ive seen some amazing paint colors and Ive even asked a couple of folks what color their Mav is but nobody has replied to that aspect. Im leaning towards colors something maybe like a really nice artic white w/black body accents or just white sparkle, or maybe a newer car color like the new mustangs w/that kinda grabber orange paint, or maybe go with a grabber blue color or what, I DONT KNOW so Im asking YOU what YOU think would be a cool matching color for my ride considering my dark blue interior? Thanks....

Im having the same issue.. cant decide on color. Ive narrowed it down a bit but cant quite bite the bullet. Decided that Im going to go off the beaten path and not stay with the standard colors- I want to shake up the Maverick world a bit. I have narrowed down to Porn Star pink ( not a pepto bismol girly pink---its a richer cool pink) or sunset orange-- both have a lot of pearl and flake in them so you get dimension. If you want a more solid color I think hemi green or the Ford Mustang grabber orange is awesome--- dont pick the 2008 orange color though because its very difficult to match paint if you need to do touch up-- they changed the color slightly in 2009 so its an easier match. If you want to get crazy with your paint-- try the house of color colors-- they have some of the best blues ever. I saw a lot of blue tones that woudl be awesome on a maverick-- PPG has some good colors too.

The New Grabber blue is a great color.. Id go with that if I wanted blue.
    anyway.. thats my 2 cents..
    Good luck.

Aww come on Matt.. dont like my pink idea?? Hot Wheels actually made pink mavericks for short time--- it would definitely be an eye catcher.. or do you just not want a pink car next to yours at Colby? My car is all apart and going in for its front end and rear end swap this week.. its exciting.

Look up the Mopar Rapid Transit colors from the 70's. Those are some LOUD colors!!!!

As for the pink, I would go for more of the Panther Pink myself.

You could always go the fairly easy route and find a blue similar to what you have but more modern. I am talking a nice pearl or some metalic. Kinda like what was done with the old Mustang green compared to the new Mustang green. Close, modern, but better.
