Well at least in magazine form, now it is online. Its kinda neat but I spend enough time on the computer and it was nice to sit down in a chair and read it

Man it is the last of the non Mustang corrupted magazines, I like Mustangs but enjoy a lot of the other Ford and Mercury cars also

I recently discovered "Car Craft" online. That's the magazine of choice for me. The online articles are amazing! I been out of the "magazine" scene for a spell, sorry I havn't heard of "Legendary Ford". I'll check into it...

Another good car magazine dies an internet death. What will we read in the washroom 10 years from now?

I was very sad to read the news as well. They say due to economic conditions, they are "temporarily" going to an online magazine only. I think they will find it very difficult in a few years to justify spendings HUGE money on a printed magazine when they can throw it up on a website for pennies in comparison.

I also spend enough time on a computer and enjoyed reading the magazine at a car show, at night in bed, etc. I guess we will see how it goes.

From what I gathered from the email was that only subscribers to the magazine will have FULL access to the magazine. Online stories will be available at their website to all. They will continue to do this until the economic climate changes. Then, they will go back to paper publications.

I have a suspicion that the magazine may be sold or taken over by another publisher. I had a long conversation with Curt Patterson at our Mustang club show a few weeks back. Curt owns a new glossy publication with the same look of Legendary Ford called Mustang Magazine. He is a former employee of Dobbs Publishing and has recruited several other former Dobbs people to put the magazine together. Great publication, Mustang only, though. He has had talks with Colin Date, the owner of Legendary Ford magazine, about taking over the magazine. Colin Date is a fine man with high ideals. I met him at NPD when Rick Schmidt asked me to help provide cars from SSCC members for the Cougar issue.

The main problem is the smallness of the market. There are just not enough non-Mustang folks out there for advertisers to reach to make it a big profit center in the long run. Also, Colin stuck his neck out and tried to bring out a Legendary GM magazine at a time when GM was falling, so advertising revenue was scarce and hard to collect. That contributed to the Legendary Ford downfall. They had to wait for advertisers to pay to be able to pay for publication costs. It just snowballed on them with no end in sight.

As to the Sprint article, I guess it will be online like the magazine. It was supposed to be in the Set/Oct or Nov/Dec issue.

Also, Curt told me that the person responsible for combining the issues of Modified Fords and the Modern Mustangs magazine into one issue has been fired and they were considering going back to a classic Ford magazine. However, the parent company has been sold again and money there is tight, too. Curt has been trying to recruit Donald Farr, editor of MUstang Monthly over to his publication. So far, no luck.

It will be interesting to see what develops.

Tablet PCs or wall mounted touch screens? :hmmm:

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they all went to online magazines. Between the environmentalists screaming about the trees and the savings by not having to pay for publishing, I fear the magazines as we know it will be gone in a generation or two.

I like to take my magazines with me when I have appoiments to go to. Now that my Mom is older she does not drive so there are many places we have to go. Sometimes, other people will ask to see the magazine so I will share it with them. I did that at work a lot and when I was done with it I let them take it home. I don't think I will be taking my lap top with me so I guess I will start doing word search puzzles.

As great as the internet is for instant information, it has also been the death of many mags, and probably will be the death of many more as advertising revenues fall off. And it's not just car mags, newspapers are facing the same thing, decreased readers and decreased advertising revenue = less profits=bankrupt companies. I guess we'll all have to get I Phones and Palm Treo's to have portable internet access so we can enjoy the online mags anywhere we are at.

Yea, it sucks that there's up-teen different magazines for Mustangs. It's like no other Fords matter. I like a few Mustangs, but I like alot more old trucks, Galaxies, Fairlanes, and some little cars called Mavericks/Comets.;)

That simply sucks! LFM, WAS the best Ford mag, period. I already have enough websites to look and read about other Fords and I am certainly not going to pay for one!

I still have a year left...I know it aint happening but I want my money back!

I saw Jeff Ford, Editor of LFM back in July. I wonder if he is still there?
