There is only one replacement skin available, no matter where you buy it, it's made by the same manufacturer. Lots of people have used them with good results.
Some of the parts listed in the Auto Krafters catalog, never came to reality.

Dave's right. That's the only option, but it would be nice if there was a lower patch panel. The majority of the cars I see with rust problems here in Oklahoma could be repaired with only a lower patch panel. Cutting one down will work, it will just be more expensive than if a lower patch was offered.

Has anyone ever tried using a patch panel from a different car?? Would anything else be "close enough"?

This might seem crazy, but I once restored a 50 International pick up for a friend. The cab corners were trashed. Nothing is available for that truck. However a cab corner was available for a 50 Chevy pick up and they were similar enough that I was able to make them work.

    Any thoughts?? Mustang... something?

I need the same panels and really hate to buy quartes just to cut the bottom off for a small patch.

I've looked at different Mustang ones, but they are all a little different, up here I can get the panels for $220 ea (Canadian) and figured that wasn't too bad.

I agree Dave that $220 isn't bad if you need the full quarter. But if all you need is the lower patch panels for both sides, the $440 is pretty expensive. Don't you think? Especially when a Mustang lower patch panel is $45!!

[IMG] Not too hard to form a simple patch,if you have the tools and some simple fab skills.Takes more to replace the quarter than it does to make this^

Mavericks arn't cheap like Mustangs, when you consider the whole picture, the limited number of parts reproduced, and what isn't is either good used, or NOS. To have a car that looks good, to me it's worth the 440, but then again, I'm in that 2% category, where money isn't my biggest concern when building a car, if I want it I buy it.

I do agree with you. Generally money doesn't stop me if I want something for my car. I was just hoping there might be a cheaper way out.

I also looked at Mustang panels in the past. Nothing is similiar enough to work, unfortunately.

My pockets arn't deep enough for me to say money isn't a concern i have to weigh things out when considering what i'm going to spend on certain parts and i would rather spend a smaller amount on patch panels and have more to spend elsewhere.
I posted the same question earlier called PATCH PANEL and got one hit that said thier was some year of Mustang that was similar but wasn't sure which year. if some one knows i would like to know!

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
There's also another option...buy the patch panel from a donor car....

There's probably a few available from members who don't live in the rust belt or rust prone areas.

I searched high and low for n.o.s. full rear quarters for my car. I bought one for $250 CDN about 45 minutes from here, and the other in Grand Rapids for $300 US. You have to be patient, but especially with Craig's List and Kijii out there now, just about anything can be found eventually.
