You should'nt have any problems with the 8" rear for now. A 7.0 car in the 1/8 mile would probably start to push the limits of the stock axles from my own experiences. I've seen plenty of mavs and comets go that fast consistently with those parts.
i wish i could find some maverick owners around here to hang out with ,that do street strip, central indiana
this is pretty much what im doing right now, slowly building up a street/strip bracket car to play around with. going with a '73 Grabber, 4 wheels disc, Versailles rear, 3.50 gears with Traction-Lok, aluminum headed 351, and built C4. my car will have a full interior as well, and im hoping to get kicked off the track the first weekend im there (ie. going too fast w/o a cage) the car is a rolling chassis already, with the shock towers already notched. the engine is in the basement being built as i get the parts to do so. trans is sitting out back. needless to say all i need to do is get everything together and once everything is in the car, just work on the details... boy is sounds so good in writing, too bad it's not that easy
when I was about 12 I would save my lunch money to get car stuff. I try to skip lunch to save money but I am fat and like food to much. Steak biscuits and burgers sure are good
Maverickdragger where you race at? Might come there sometime when weather is good. I love the road trips especally when they end at a strip.
Yea i been to steele a couple times, I usually just stop at Bama Dragway as steele is about another 70 miles from there. Bama is nearly 100 miles from my house. Let me know sometime when you are going or maybe coming to Bama and ill try to meet you.
then I can't bring my mustang. I went about 2 weeks ago to bama and it was to cold I went skatin on my last pass. I will bring my maverick when I get it running right. I am figuring high 9's since its mostly stock.
