Took the Mav out today for the first time in 2 weeks and was getting close to the home depot parking lot and as soon as the taurus fan kicked in I heard a noise and a rumble. Turned off the car. Inspected things and found the actual fan blades came loose from the housing and carved into my radiator!

Took the fuse out and started the car back up, turned up the heater and drove home. Surprisingly the temp stayed around 185 :thumbs2: all the way home.

I should have just gone with an aftermarket part. So if anyone has any recommendation on a good electric fan to sit on my 3row aluminum radiator let me know.

Bryant, as always I gotta come bug you bro, don't think I can put it on with my gimped arm.

    I've had a few
Been running a Taurus fan on mine for close to a year and half now, over 30,000 miles with no problems... I had one from Advance Auto for a year prior to that, about 20,000 miles, and the motor burned out on it. What caused it to come apart?

Usually when electrics do that the bearings have let loose and the blade tips into the rad.

My junkyard fan worked loose on one side and moved enough that the water pump pulley ate the fan motor. I went back to a Ford flex fan.

Once I can take the taurus fan off I'll see what condition the radiator is in. But I'm not sure I wanna deal with another junkyard piece. What else are people running on here as far as aftermarket fans?

what are you running now frank? I took the blade off only when I was installing it and made sure to put the tab on properly before installing it but it's possible I suppose that I didn't put her back on securely enough.

you cant run a Taurus fan with a 3row radiator, you can only run them with factory or two row radiators.

if u try to run one with a 3row, the fan motor will hit the water pump pulley, ask me how i know
