Can anyone please tell me what this seat originally came out of? They're really nice but there are NO TRACKS ( which is probably why they were free ). I don't want to rig 'em if I don't have to. **************************************** IF IT'S GOT BOOBS OR WHEELS SOONER OR LATER IT'S GONNA COST YA!
I'm making an educated guess here, but based on some pictures I have here I'm going to say '74-'76 Torino or Elite, which at the time was considered a mid-size car.
My girlfriend had a ford elite and that seat looks awful familiar. Except hers was white and....... ah the memories.
A lot of Ford buckets use the same bolt pattern on the base. If you want to measure yours, I have some here to compare that to. If they do match, those should bolt in using Mav seat tracks. Mav and Comet buckets for 71-72 use the same frame as 71-73 Mustang seats. The bracket that connects the seat back to the bottom on yours looks similar to those. The bottom suggests that shape too, but the backs on those look different.
I was told they were out of a Bobcat, the bolt span on the seats are 13". **************************************** IF IT'S GOT BOOBS OR WHEELS SOONER OR LATER IT'S GONNA COST YA!
well i cant speak for babcats but my first car was a 77 pinto and those are no where near close to the seats i had and have looked at alot pintos all years those look to expensive to be in those cars but i could be wrong they do look like torinio seats though that is what i thought when i seen them
GOTTCHA !! No, really, the guy who gave them to me, said the woman who gave them to him, said they came out of a Bobcat, but they don't look like Pinto/Bobcat seats. See where this went? That's why I'm asking, because I HAVE NO %#@*%%G IDEA WHAT THEY ARE!! **************************************** IF IT'S GOT BOOBS OR WHEELS SOONER OR LATER IT'S GONNA COST YA !
If that pattern is 13" front-to-back and 14" in width, Mav bucket seat tracks ought to put them right in place. No rigging req'd.
I have actually seen a pinto wagon recently that had seats like that. Pretty sure they were original. Fancy for a Pinto. Should work with Maverick tracks.
They are 13" front to back, but Driver width is 12 1/2" and Pass is 11". The width really shouldn't matter should it? All I would have to do is change the length of the wire that connects to the other rail, correct? **************************************** IF IT'S GOT BOOBS OR WHEELS SOONER OR LATER IT'S GONNA COST YA!
You will have to drill 8 new holes, where the Mav bucket seats at least use the same holes that the bench seat uses outboard, so when changing over to buckets, you only need to drill the 4 inboard holes. Just went out and measured my floorpans. If you go in 1.5" on each side,(11" wide passenger side track width) you will be OK ... won't go much more though ... the ridges that the seats mount to end. Looks like you could pull this off without too much fuss.
I don't suppose anyone has a full set of tracks they want to sell. **************************************** IF IT'S GOT BOOBS OR WHEELS SOONER OR LATER IT'S GONNA COST YA!
I have been in contact with a fellow in Wisconsin, he confirmed that this is a Pinto/Bobcat LDO seat and he might have a set of tracks. Thanks for all your input, I LOVE THIS FORUM ! **************************************** IF IT'S GOT BOOBS OR WHEELS SOONER OR LATER IT'S GONNA COST YA!
