Oh man, it's awesome. Bryant, you rock. I got to his shop around 11-ish and since the 331 is at the machine shop we decided to work on moving the battery and the solenoid to the trunk. Found a great spot for the Optima red top. Then Bryant made a shopping list and we went and got cables and connectors.

We wired things through the door track so it's really clean. A grommet through the firewall has 2 thick wires and one small wire running through.

The small wire Bryant spliced to the neutral safety switch under the dash I believe. Big red goes to alternator post and big black goes to starter. The other side of the small purple wire goes to the solenoid.

I finally attached my new replacement electric taurus fan.

So a few things I noticed after all this. The car runs smoother, no doubt about it, dunno why. The voltage reading is higher and even when fan kicks in or AC is on I'm still over 12volts which wasn't the case before the battery/solenoid move.
Only problem is the coolant temp is not as good with this fan. It kicks in ok but its a little weaker than the other fan I had and I made sure I hooked it up to the higher output power wire on the motor. So I'll have to check coolant level and see whether I can fix that.
    Pics of everything to follow.

Better check. But I think there have been reports, on here, of Mavericks doing lots of wheelies on the street with all that weight in the rear. :biglaugh:

you may want to check and make sure you have...full voltage...when the fan is running...:yup:
these fans put out more CFMs on low than most other fans on high...
how do you have it wired?

the fan does have full volatge. it has a 4 gage wire from the bat to the solinoid that is a foot away. then there is 6 gage wire that goes to the big post on the 3g alt. then there is 6 gage wire that goes from the alt to the realy for the fan.

The fan was working today but for some reason now it's not. Gotta check the fuses tomorrow, too tired to do it tonight.

what amp...relay...are you using? what amp fuse?
if you are trying to start the fan on high, that may be a problem.
i tried to start mine on high and it would blow a 60 amp fuse.
now mine starts on low and then goes to high. i have a 15 amp fuse to my switched-on...75 amp relay...feed.

Since you drive this car pretty regularly....where are you going to keep the spare tire?

Wow!! Off topic, but this is the first post I've ever seen you make without this ":rofl2:"
Oh, and that's what that little piece of metal is for..to hold the spare.

Looks good. Thats on my list for the Spring. I could use the space under the hood for a nice relay box.

as for the spare tire . . . I'm thinking to rely on AAA, I know, not the best idea but that's where it's at right now. Later I may just put on in the trunk, I'll still have room.

The fuse I have I think is 70amp, so I should be ok, but I gotta check.

Bryant and I didn't want to pull a scooper so decided to clamp the battery down pretty good.

I put my spare up against the seat back. That way, my folding awning and folding chairs lay flat on the floor at the tail lights. Only moved once in a panic stop, and that was because the rear seat wasn't fastened good.
