So I am kinda sorta near the end of my paint job, and I was thinking about whether or not to do a racing stripe. I painted most of it sail gloss blue, minus the valance panels- I'm doing the bumper conversion. What do you guys think would be best? I could go with a simple double stripe, like the first and second pictures, or I could go with a triple stripe like the third and fourth pictures. The tape in the pictures is a rough depiction of what the tape I would use to paint the stripes would look like. The stripes would be white. Also, I would take the stripes all the way back. I could also go with no stripe at all.

I don't think the shape of the front of the Comet hood (or Maverick hood for that matter) goes well with stripes running all the way to the front. Start the stripe at the hood shape at the front and follow the hood bulge.

Here is one of my old cars with one large stripe....front to rear.

There are few cars I like that look on. Ray Parrish Shelby wanna be mav is one of them. His car has other things to distract you from the fact that those stripes make the car look to wide and tall enough......it's just a distortion or optical illusion but still....

I like this layout. If my car was not a GT I wud consider going with it whenever I get around to painting it.
