Hey guys and gales figured i'd share some progress of my dad and mine project as i haven't posted pics since we got the car hear, just the ebay auction... anyways hears a few of fresh off the truck... and now how she sits now ( don't mined the mess, we just riped apart a riding lawn mower and re-doing it over the winter, aswell as riped apart the mavs heater box...made a mess lol) the cancer.. newest ebay purchase.. now were looking for floors. thanks for looking!
haha, ya the mackie's transport guy was supposed to phone a few hours before dropping off....he did, and says hes just picking up a lambo than is on his way...tried to talk him into letting me more it to get ours out lol..no dice.. not rich by any means, me and my dad just like our cars
I think you need to let me come get that uglyazz red car out of your way so you'll have room to work on the Mav!
Looks like a great project. I have to ask, do those license plate frames say Suburban Ford? I actually have a very similar 72 Grabber to yours that was also purchased at Suburban Ford in Sacramento, CA. If those are Suburban Ford frames, are you interested in getting rid of them? -Corbin
Nice Maverick....so what's up with the Grabber blue paint that they all seem to rust in the same places?....I also read about the green hoods that did NOT rust and guess what...my donar flat hood I had given to me is pretty much rust free and GREEN...different colors of paint resist rust better or worse? maybe primer was different? My 71 Grabber blue was rusting in the same places as this car...top of fenders, roof of car just surface rust but there all the same.
I've got a Green hood that's rust free as well.. Also got a blue one and a red one that's rust free though.
yup they are suburban ford plate frames, Also found on the lot advertisements plates behind the front plate, car spend its hole life until now just outside of Sacramento ca. At the moment we would not like to part with them, but if we decided to you'll be the 1st to know. The plan? have fun and hack it up a bit, get creative, something we couldn't do when restoring the shelby. Going resto mod with it, current plans include r&c front end, currently working on a custom auto-meter gauge cluster, and tossing around the idea of a 4.3 mod motor, although that may not happen this year as my dads outta a job at the moment, so the $'s a bit tight. we are starting off by fixing the floors, than we'll paint the jams, and cover the interior with por-15 than dynamat. and start interior re-install. We would like to drive this come spring, sorta a restor well being a drive if you know what i mean. Spent $40 at the junkyard today and got another project for the mav rolling..... 98 explorer
