Back in 88, I made a pest of myself trying to buy this 70 from a friend that had it sitting in his yard for a few years. A year goes by, after I simply stopped asking him about buying it, and he comes down to the garage that I worked at and asked me if I was still interested. I told him "yes" and asked him "how much?". He said "just come over and get it out of my yard". Price was right: $0.00
I paid my friend $800 for my 302 Sprint. Neither of us had any idea of its value and neither of us wanted to rip off the other. After I found this forum, learned what Mavs were selling for, and found all the rust it had, I'm thinking $500 would have been fair. But, we're both OK with the price :Handshake and the $300 difference will be a small part of the total invested.
These are the how it looks now pics... I have pics of the Blue beast before I painted it 20 yrs ago, gotta find em and scan em in...
Nice!! Makes me wanna get me engine in. I've been trying to visualize the clean white engine bay with black tower braces, pulleys, etc.
Thanks,I think the black tones down the white engine bay, makes it all look subtle and crisp at the same time...
These are some pictures of the mav when I was pullin her home, and a few of the process as it unfolded and last but not least there are a coulpe of the finished product. The sidepipes are removed now, and I have Flowmasters in thier place. The only other thing I have changed are the valve covers they are now a black and pollished fin type... looks good... oh yeah and cragars have been installed deep dish in the rear. THANKS FOR LOOKING.. Alex O.
