chevy or not the LS1 is one of the best engines ever produced. i guess it would depend on what transmission your going to use. As many can be swapped(including automatics). Also didn't the corvettes have the torque tube?
Ask somebody over at the ls1tech.com forums. I don't think it's gonna matter much though, since you're cutting out the firewall, converting to RWD, building a new floor and a tube chassis. The length of the drivetrain is the least of your worries. I'm not trying to discourage you though. Do it! Me, I'd use a Chevette instead, but if you have a Geo, use a Geo...
one of our walmart customers gave me the car to me for the project. its just one of those deals where its something you would never see coming. imagine a geo metro passing a zo6. priceless
I'm not sure if you realize the extent of the project you are getting yourself into. You will have to completely rethink the chassis of the car.
Yeah, you're essentially gonna build or heavily modify a chassis then set a gutted Geo on top of it. Hope you can weld. Maybe shorten and narrow an S10 frame?
the s10 frame is what im looking at and yes i am a farking good welder. once i get the wheel base set the plan is to pretty well just set a shell on the frame and go frome there.
