Comet to Maverick - Front end?

Can I put a Maverick hood and grill onto my comet without a lot of problems? It is a 73 Comet (LDO Optioned) and like the hood and grill from the Mav more. I know they are different and not interchangeable seperately, but how about together?

 

it will work! but you will want to go with a maverick bumper also! then you will have a Comick!

 

Isn't a 73 Maverick bumper the same as a Comet? It's just the position that the front bumper shocks are mounted?? The stone guard would just need to be swapped.I've never seen too many 73 Comets...

 

i really don't know i haven't seen many 73 comets either... i know 74 and up are the same.

1973 Comet and Maverick bumpers are the same. How far away from the car is different. Comet bumper sticks out further.

It makes sense that the Comet bumper sticks out a little farther, since the hood and grill protrude out front farther than a Maverick. So since nobody has done this before, I may end up being the ginny pig. It will be a bit till I get to that part though, engine and tranny stuff more important to get done now. Thanks for the info tho..
