Ordered a 8 point cage from Competition Engineering and 2 sets of belts from RCI and just received everything this morning! I would like to install removable front bars but don't at all like the set up that Comp has. Has anyone done this with good results? I would really like pics if possible...
Ran an 11.55 @117mph thru the mufflers in the street class at Mission last year...open exhaust I'm thinking 20's or 30's...and with 3.50 gears!
I haven't done it myself, but I've seen a bunch of cars now that run a 3/8" (just guessing on the thickness) plate at the middle of the main hoop and one at the bottom of the front hoop. Then a solid end is welded to both ends of the pipe that goes between them. Dang I wish that I had a picture...but it looks a lot more sturdy than what we used to use even 5 years ago. Anyhow, if it were me that would be the way I would go.
