Will a C6 transmision fit a 70 mav?

    Thanks,PaulS. I never revved it,just give it about 30secs and it`s fine all day after that. This trans is in a 66 Fairlane. It`s been that way for over a year. Time to get her rebuilt.

    Yep, I babied mine for about three years because I was too busy to build one for myself. It sure is nice to have a real transmission in the car though. I have it in getting a front end rebuild now - all the steering and suspension is being replaced. I can't do the work because of my back and I supply the parts and let the local Voc-Tech do the work for cheap.

    Received my car back from the painter today. Will get pics of the tranny tomorrow.

    I can't tell what it is (due to shear ignorance). Are these pics sufficient for identification?

    (I've got the Mav up on front ramps, so I can take more, if needed)

    EDIT: Are these not detailed enough to tell whether this is a C4 or a C6??? (if not, please tell me what you need to see a picture of) :)

    That is a C4 - the square (ish) pan gives it away.
    Is that a six in there as an engine? a 200?

    Nope. 302 V8. :)

    (supposedly out of a 1988 Mustang GT)

    Must be the viewing angle - it looks to me like a very small bell housing on a 200. Can't really see the engine from there.

    Yep! that is definitely a 200 inch six cylinder! oh, wait - THAT'S A V-8!
    good looking one too!
