    here

how about this idea using 2 cut outs sideways to make a crossover pipe and direct each exhaust bank to the opposide side of the car. the vipers did this in the mid 90s only it was kinda under your butt. they had problems with 450 horsepower creating to much resonance from the sidepipes. so they crossed em and sent them to opposite sides of the car.

That is what I was thinking about, but he would still have to angle the tubes forward a little before he entered the side pipes. If I remember correctly, the 60" sidepipe inlets were about 3" FORWARD of the header flanges. So 70" pipes would be closer to 8" forward of the headers.

Now, if you are not using headers, you have no problems...

Yeah i wasnt really thinking about the side pipes kits. Whenever i get my motor back in, my side pipes will consist of 30 inch glasspacks. Bright red cherrybombs. And I may do that cross setup. Now that ive thought about it.

I didn't have a problem with headers and side pipes. If I needed the extra 5 or 10 more horse power I un-cap the headers. The S bend didn't hurt performance on the street.

They look too cool for school so I want them. They fit our cars so I must possess them. Since I was a kid and saw them on an AMX I knew I had to have them. I am not running a race car so I am not worried about losing seconds of my time. I have factory exhaust cut right before the Y and if I have to cut it shorter to make them work I totally will without a second thought. Have sawzall...not afraid to use it. I will be installing them as soon as I get them home too. Functional or not they will be on.

Next is the musclecar spoiler and louvers and front airdam and small bumper swap etc. I love my car. This is why I can't own expensive classics...I like to soup them up and don't care what purists think. You should have seen the guy I sold my Charger to's face when I told him I drove it daily and it was my only car.

Got 'em. Had just enough daylight to remove the lower drivers side manifold bolt and cuss out the impossibility of removing the upper one.
I'll work on it tomorrow after work, driving my F150 in the meantime.

I had Flowmaster series 40s on flex hose from the factory pipes and a 16 inch extension off the muffler. Compared to what I had these are amazingly quiet. I think I have to tighten the manifold bolts up a little more because I can't imagine I don't have a leak but overall it's done and I really like it. They tuck under the rockers too...
I finished after dark so no video or pictures yet.
    Soon.
