Ok so waters inside the tranny,so I called around to see how much it cost to flush and they said 150 dollars!! plus they said they didn't know if it would help it or just make it worse,he told me I should drain it out agaain and try putting another filter on it but that's like 120he said can someonehelp me please!!
Sounds like the cooler in radiator is bad. If you don't want to replace the rad., disconnect the lines from cooler and install a separate cooler in front of the radiator. ( an get a big one) YOU WILL have to run a line from the cooler fittings to each other to keep water from leaking out! This may be a SHORT TIME fix as the radiator is probably on it's way out. just something to think about,,, Paul S will give more info on if flush will work or not. I would drain,refill an run 5 minutes, drain refill an run 5 minutes, drain refill and run. Check after some good running and if any moisture is present,,, yep change fluid again! First 2 refills I would just clean filter out with new type f tranny fluid. Third time install new filter, if filter on first inspection is crappy looking and don't clean up replace it. Easy to do and you'll save $$$ over a garage doing it. And other then $$$ for fluid an filter not much to lose. Again,,, this is what I would do for ME. Paul may tell you different with better advise.
When coolant gets into the transmission it is always best to rebuild the transmission. The coolant is corrosive and damaging to the frictions as well. Get it out, torn down and cleaned up. The longer the coolant is in contact with the metal parts - the more damage occurs - the valve body is especially sensitive to the damage from corrosion. If you think that it is too much to rebuild it for a "little water" then consider this: Drain the converter, cooler, lines and transmission completely. Replace the filter and refill with pan gasket - $45-$55 run it for five minutes (I would suggest a bit longer and doing a few 10 second power brake to get it up to temp). Drain everything again clean the strainer (filter), cooler lines and cooler again. Replace the gasket and refill. $45-$55 AGAIN Run it up to operating temp through all the gears, drain, flush the cooler and lines. Replace the pan gasket and refill. $45-$55 AGAIN Take the chance that it will continue to work well. You will have spent $135-$165 on a gamble that has a 3 in 5 chance (approx) of working. If you get a master rebuild kit and do the work yourself then you have about $120 - $155 in parts. (add new oil to it) OK, so you have some estimates and now the choice is yours. It will take some learning to rebuild it but most can learn to do a good job the first time. I, persoanally, would not hesitate but then I build them for performance and have for 35+ years. I sometimes forget what it was like the first time.
I distinctly remember the first transmission I ever built. It was a medium case cast iron cruis-o-matic that I nearly botched when I installe the distribution tube and broke one of the sealing rings without knowing it. That was thirty eight years ago and the next year I started modifying C4s and C6s for performance. I had a good instructor and lots of help along the way. Now I am hoping that someone will carry on building these "obsolete" transmissions. I guess the old aluminum Powerglide is obsolete too but both transmissions have a place where the lesser transmissions are left on the road.
Well it sucks cause I just got it rebuilt too a year ago:/ I replaced the radiator and got transmission cooler too on it,drain the fluid bout three times and replaced the filter today looks alright..so I took itaround for a while,and when I was goin to my bro's the rpm's shot up so I thought it was gone but I checked the fluid and there was pretty much nothing in there..so I got more tranny fluid inside of itand ran fine,it still feels good now,shift good too but idk if it got everything cleaned in thee tranny though
Run it until it quits. You have a chance that it will be fine. I wish you were closer but if I can help, I will.
