I am wondering if I can just take out the AC box I have under my dash and put this one in instead:

is it as simple and taking old one out and mounting this one under the firewall? I want to get rid of the controls I have now and go with the electronic ones vintage air has.

It won't be a bolt-in. I put a Gen III in mine, fortunately the dash and engine were out. I think it could be done with those in place, but much harder to run the lines and wiring...

I have the VA Gen IV setup and will be mounting it on the firewall soon. My dash is out so it should not be a problem to mount it. Its definitely smaller than the factory setup. supposedly the wiring is pretty easy as well. I think it could be done with the dash in place but will be tight. One thing that will make it difficult is modifying the center dash and defrost vents to accept the hoses.
