Would the 71" Patriots be fine size-wise (not too big/long)? (I have standard exhaust manifolds...no headers. 302)

    edit:

ok, I ordered 71" Patriot side pipes. Should get them in a week or so.

I had that T-shirt Mavowar...my mom hated it! I had a lot of T-shirts she hated.
These are 71" and are bolted to my stock manifolds. 50miles so far with zero issues. My car looks and sounds better and they tuck up under the rockers far enough to make me doubt that I will ever burn my leg. I drove 10 miles and they were still not too hot to touch. The hardest part was removing the old pipes from the manifold studs. The factory bolts on mine were determined to remain in place. Mine also were cut and a braided flex joint installed to aid with vibration. I think that was added...they look like they were added...
Mine fit like a glove too. Best thing I've done to my car since the Cragars.

Paintank, did those bolt right up to the exhaust manifolds? I ordered the 71" Patriots and am wondering if I can install myself or if I will need go employ a exhaust shop to do the work.

When you buy them new, they just have a 90 angle at the front, and will need to be fabbed up to the exhaust manifolds somehow. Most likely, unless you are really good with tubing bender and welder, you will need a muffler guy.

I managed to luck out and buy mine from a fellow member who was running them on his Comet using stock manifolds. Mine bolted straight up and were perfect.

I am always amazed at this incredible site and the people on it.

do these come with silencers in them? if so they might be removable, if you did it'll help reduce back pressure and up the volume. We did it on my friends dads corvette sounded awesome. then again it might have had something to do with the 8-71 blower on the 350.
