I think its important to note that the reproduction quarter panels are not the same on the bottom side. Who ever is making the part didnt buy the bottom die so the bottom rear side of the reproduction quarter panels is different than the originals. If I get around to it I will take some photos and post the differences
They are different for sure. I'm cutting up full quarters for patch panels as we speak. I was able to get them for $169 a side which I didn't think was that bad. I agree they can be made but there are some compound curves on the lower rear that I wouldn't want to try to replicate.
Forgot to do this last night, sorry. Hope these are good enough to help make sense of it. Here's the new one, it's flat on the bottom where it meets the trunk extension. Here's the original, where it meets the trunk extension it has an upside down trough so to speek on the bottom. It also has a different shape where it curves around the back by the valance but it doesn't show in the pics I took so I didn't post them.
OK I see now.The "valley" is not present on the repro's.Is the rear section by the valance noticable or is it workable? Thanks for the pics.:Handshake
The rear by the valance is solid on mine so I left it. It is noticable but can most likely be worked around. I'll see if I can get better pictures and post them.
OK here we go. The big difference at the back is that they didn't even try to come close to the original. Take a look, I also included a pic of my solution which is to leave that section in place! Don't get me wrong here, I think these were worth every penny I paid for them but they aren't NOS quality for sure.
