trunk springs/hinge

I'm having trouble trying to get the spring on the bar for the trunklid/hing

my passenger side is tight and the driveside is loose
how does the hanging piece go back on?( the pic is of the passengerside)

 

The passanger side is the only side that has the spring in it. The drivers side is just a hinge

 

yep, and the passenger side hinge gets "loaded" by the torsion spring. it (driver's side end) goes into 1 of the slots on the driver's side hinge support.

 

but wher does the hanging part go??? cant figure out how it go's back on

Looks like you need to remove the spring and put it behind the hinge.

ok well.....didnt get it on yet. want to ask if both of the bars for the trunk are possed to be the same lenth.?? Cause the right one with the spring dont go up all the way as the driver side does. Is thier any way to make the bare come out more?? If so how do i do it??

It looks like you need to remove the spring and raise the lift arm and put the spring in behind it.

 

To get the torsion bar on I used a 3/8" (IIRC) deep socket on a long extension. Slip the end of the torsion bar into the socket and you'll have plenty of leverage to load it and put it in whichever slot you want.

 

Take the spring off and move the pass side hinge arm up and put the spring back in with the arm in the up position.
