This is on a 68 Torino...seen them on a 70 Cougar too. Looks like a corperate wheel with flat dog dish caps. When were these made? Are they available in aftermarket 17"? This one looks like a Chevy rally with a Ford cap. Std dog dishes came around 70-71 (torino/mach 1 style) with the deep beauty ring so what gives?
those were made by kelsey hayes for ford it was a styled steel wheel option 70-71 mid sized fords and they should be a 14x7 see next post for model breakdowns guess i wasn't specific enough here
I wish someone made 'em in 17". It would be a nice change from seeing Torq Thrusts everywhere. No offense to anyone who has them......just something different ya know?
Those wheels were on Mercurys...They were standard equipment on 70 Cyclone spoilers and spoiler IIs' Along with base Cougars and Montegos. Most people opted for the Motor wheels Magnum 500s'
My buddy in highschool had a orange cyclone that was the craziest ride I ever had in a factory street car. The grill on that car is a image burned in the mellon to this day. center section looked like a cross-hair sight or something. And yes those wheels do look great, clean simple and have a rallye style to them. got me thinking too I was contemplating buying the Magnum 500's that are available in a 15x10" for the rear.
In the ford line up 70-71 these wheel are reffered to on the window sticker as the argent styled steel wheel On Mercurys they were painted a Dark Argent color there were not standard on any "base model" line of ford or mercury car but they were optional equip. Cougar / Mustang /Cyclone (includes montego) / Torino (includes fairlane, falcon and Ranchero) under Part #: D0ZZ-1007-C is for the 14x7 the spare is a matching wheel but in 14x6 width in cars with these wheels
