    Great stuff being done. (y)
Any reason why you didn't get new fuel lines? Just wondering, I blew compressed sand through mine till I have to have new ones.

so reveal the rest of your plans. are you going with AC? Are you going to put a nice sound system in? what color interior? Did you figure out which pedal assembly you going with, I recall you wanted to do the Zbar.

Looking great, but aren't those shift levers on the transmission suppose to point down? - Matt

    thanks guys :)

    to answer your questions:
the whole fuel system didn't look too bad - absolutely no rust in the tank, the pickup was really clean. the lines were ok, so i thought i might reuse the whole system. are there actually new fuel lines available?

the shift levers are correct - the hurst competition plus is mounted that way.
i'll go with a z-bar setup for the clutch. the bar i bought with the pedal set looks like a modified early mustang one to me - i'll find out how good or bad it fits.

and the rest of the car will be nothing too spectacular. it'll get a pretty plain jane interior. no a/c and not too much of a soundsystem. maybe an alpine head unit to connect my ipod to, and alpine speakers in the back. in the front i'll use the dual voice coil speaker from custom autosound, as it can be mounted in the dash. surely more impressive will be the 347

Thomas, who is building your 347? Is is someone in Germany or are you buying a crated engine?

Bob, I'll have someone over here build it for me.
Too often friends of mine have seen crate engines who were already flagged for 'export only', as they were basically junk. No one paid attention to the tolerances, I have seen 302 bored .060 over with massive cooling problems.

I have a roller block and a balanced stroker kit from The Mustang Depot with Probe pistons. They will give me a roughly 10.5:1 compression ratio. I'll be using a E303 Ford racing cam and will top it off with "cheap" Procomp heads and Harland Sharp Roller Rockers.

My goal is definitely not the ultimate race engine - the general lack of drag strips over here would give me no use for that. I'm aiming at a decent street engine which will give me the most hp and torque at lower rpm. No need for an engine which will make power up to 7000 rpm - if I never use it!

and another quick update - look what the postman delivered today!

bought it on ebay from maverick72kb - don't know whether the seller is registered on here, too. oh, and paypal refunded me in the disaster i had with the last pedal set. so all of that is now sorted out.

the z-bar in this set is a custom welded piece. looks like they took the lower part from the v8 z-bar and welded the rest together. seller claims it came from a running mav with a 302 - so i hope everything fits!

Thomas, what do you have to go through to get an American based engine done in Germany. Do you have someone that is already experienced in 302 engines ready to go?

Just curious of what problems present themselves over seas.

the small block ford is popular over here, too. take a look at these two links. the sites are in german, but the pictures and numbers will give you a rough idea.

    http://www.cobracorner.de/cobracorner/motoren/index.html
    http://www.redlinemotors.de/engineering/motorenentwicklung.html
    http://www.yankeemotors.com/preise05.html

and even an experienced european engine builder could do the job - given the correct measurements and tolerances.

oh, and as far as the autobahn is concerned: if the engine runs smooth at 100 mph with 3000 rpm i'm happy. if it has the potential for a little more, that's just - good to know ;)
