    Need I say more???

This is an old picture. Even worse now that I have 3G alternator and more #2 cables and breakers in that area.

Group the wires together by circuit and wrap em in some type of loom.It will make it neater at the least.

Put the Relays in a black box, it'll hide them better.

I was wondering if putting a battery box in there, just a cheap marine box with a cover, wouldn't look like crap. Nobody would know that there is no battery in there. Then a single loom coming out that goes to all the electrical crud.

I fabricated a box for mine. Hides them well, but appears kind of large in the compartment.

Can't get pic's now of my race car, I wired it all myself. Took almost a week to wire entire car. It'll be little while but I will try and post pictures.

You want to keep all wires color coded or numbered, helps down the road, cut the wires at one end and zip tie as you route wires neatly together. When you get to loose end, cut and soldier new ends on and forget about it!

I could maybe use a motorcycle-sized battery box instead, to keep is smaller.

I really DO need to do what dkstuck is saying. I put all mine in long waiting to see where I finally end up with putting the relays and such, so if I put them all in a box, i can then call that the "final" place and cut the wires shorter.

Just did this last week with my battery, kill switch, and ground cables, and re-did them all in #2 welding cable.

Just take your time, and neaten them up. Use zip ties, and some of that black plastic wrap.

exactly, i bought some blue high heat loom from autozone. just grouped wires and used blue zip ties to hold along sides. matches ford blue engine well, of course use whatever color you want.

What is "right"? If I knew that, I wouldn't have the rat's nest in the first place.

Starting over is something I have been contemplating, with a full new wiring harness and relocating all this crap somewhere else.

I moved my coil and ignition box to inside the car on the passenger's firewall, mounted the starter solenoid and megafuse down low under the battery tray. On the other side of the engine the headlight harness and windshield washer wires have been moved low down around the motor mounts. Everything is in black splitloom with a black engine compartment.

Put your relays and breakers side by side and mount them lower on the inner fender or under your MSD box. Start running wire but keep the wires bundled together until it's time to exit the harness to their location. I have a junction box, or main buss, that is supplied with a wire from the starter relay. This keeps from having a bunch of wires on the solenoid. I have pictures on my now deceased computer. Once I get it living again I'll post a picture.
