Cruzin to Colby 2010

I have all the parts that the Canadians ordered. They are packed in the Comet & ready for delivery. I'll see everyone on Sunday morning @ Denny's...

 

SNIFF... hate to miss the Cruise BUT....

... I'll be with you'all in SPIRIT.

This is the coldest, dampest spring I can remember (global warming, eh?...) but I am sure the weather will be pristine for the Cruise to Colby... if it's a little cool and breezy like my last trip with you guys then just make the best of it... the road trip and comradery was the best part, and our cars are not as finnicky as some of those show queens that are barely street legal...

I am ready!! After 4 stress filled weeks, my car is done. I took it in to get tuned today. I am very excited and so is my son! I am looking forward to seeing friends that I have met previously and meeting new ones!! See you there!!

 

Only a couple more days!!!! Can't Wait!!!

 

We will be leaving tomorrow morning around 10am to catch the 12:45 ferry! Should be on the mainland by 3pm and then will try a meet up with Ryan and Shaun before hitting the border! Meeting everyone else in Bellingham at the Bellis Fair Mall outside the Old Country Buffet! Who ever gets to Bellis first...see if you can find a spot around Target that we all(7 cars) can fit so we can part together! Looking forward to tomorrow...should be fun..hope you have wipers! Any troubles text me and I will try and help!

I am excited!! I just finished the tune up! ouch!! my nuckles... touch up paint on the motor is done. See you all tomorrow. Cliff I will see you and Shaun at the McDonald,s in Surrey on the King George Hwy. Colby here we come.

ill be watching the Lodco Nationals on sunday at Mission Raceway ,they say no rain

 

Met Streetdeacon (Bob) today. He stopped by the house & saw my collection of cars & parts. We talked Mavericks. Took him thru my workshop of parts. He saw a set of chrome Lakewood traction bars. Asked if they were for sale. I told him I would part with them, cause I'm going another route. We installed them in the driveway. He is a happy camper. They look good on his Maverick. Can't wait to meet everyone else tomorrow morning at Denny's....

 

ugh.....I'll bring my maverick but i might not be cruising... the motor is making some bad noises... its something like lifters, valves i dont even know. probably gonna need a motor rebuild which is something i can't afford the car sounds like its gonna throw a rod. and it echoes through the exhaust too...

The part that sucks the most about all this is that i really wanted to save up my money for rust repair/paint and then finish the interior...

 

I thought I would post a few pics. I am having a great time, it is a little rainy but oh well. The cruise was a blast. Today is the show! My son is really enjoying himself also. Everyone has been wonderful!! This Maverick/Comet community is amazing!!

 

Its nice to see the West Coast of the U.S. and the West Coast of Canada getting together for real International meets ,Its just GRRRRREAT. International meet number Two will be the NAMCC meet at Mega Ford Weekend at Mission Raceway Sept 11 and 12 ( also friday night street legal racing on the 10 th ).It would be great to see a big turnout of U.S and Canadians at Mega Ford just like this great turnout at the Colby Cruise.
