I have temp installed a 2K leather Stang seat on the pass. side of my Comet. I have an issue w/ the elevated seat height. I gained abt 2" over the stock buckets.
I like the look of the Stang seats and mainly I like the fact of the reclining seat-back.
My issue is the seat puts my head abt an inch frm the roof, as a matter of fact my head hits the window frame if I lean toward the door; I am 5'11" tall.
Yes, I used the Mav. brackets frm the orig seats.
I like these seats but can't live the elevated height - I feel it's a safety issue.
I have seen others here use similiar seats and wonder if they're installation worked out satisfactory for them.
It appears I will be removing this seat and ultimately having my orig seats recovered (Cloth inserts-Vinyl trim) as they are not in a real bad way. I only installed the pass seat to see how it wud work out so I cud use the car while making my decision. Open for any comments/suggestions.

Are you using the stock Hi-back seat tracks? How about replacing them with the lower LDO seat tracks from the same year cars. I have the opposite problem. I have LDO tracks for the Hi-back seats. There seems to be about a two inch difference.

Last weekend I used a set of LDO tracks and installed a pair of 90 Mustang GT seats. They fit perfect! I would swap out the tracks for the LDO and lower the seats. That way you will have a much more comfortable and supportive seat.

Thanks for ur insight. I am using stock Hi-Back tracks. I do recall since u mentioned it the guys were using LDO brackets.
I had'nt thought abt they were different went I were fitting them in the car. I hope to attend the MCCI Roundup in Hannibal, MO nx month and hope to see someone there w/ a similiar setup and then decide which way Im going.
As of now, I am putting the orig seat back.

    Ldo tracks

Thanks for ur response regarding the LDO tracks. I did read in Mavdog71's article on this mod. he used LDO tracks. I suppose w/ my desire to get them in the car I forgot LDO tracks were used. Now that u guys have got me on the right track, hopefully I can acquire the right tracks -LOL.

I have a set of LDO seats in a 73. The tracks should be in good condition. PM me if you need some.
