Rusty ? are you going to put the comet strips back on ... if so take as many pic as you can ... when i bought my grabber strip I took my pic with me and made sure they were the same .. and they were not the supplier made then the way i wanted them.. Jay
Had fun this Memorial Day working on the Comet. Got the rear drums removed, axles pulled and bearings pressed off. The rear disc brakes are all mocked up!
You said the bearings are pressed off... they look like they are back on . Do you have a deadline date?
They were still on for the mock up, but I will be replacing them so I pressed them off. No deadline... at all. Im not rushing it, mainly because I am still finishing up college. Once Im done school I hope to be able to really spend serious time on it.
Got to work on the Comet today. Pretty productive. The diff and springs are out. Also got the tank dropped. No sheet metal surprises.
Yea. Chunked mine years ago . Progress is good no matter how small. Just feels like it will never end..
Well, I was using the drivers side one to hang my exhaust from . You're right, progress is progress in my book. But it keeps me happy and productive at the same time. So all is good. I keep saying... "Someday I will be driving this car again." That day will come... it has no choice!
Summer semester is over! I've got time until Spring semester (in between work) to get back on the Comet. :bananaman In between classes I mocked up a RAP module (Retained Accessory Power). Should be testing it in the next few weeks. That will be a neat addition. Next: Finish removing the cowl and repair the swiss cheese underneath. Knock out small sheet metal repair in the trunk and other places. And build a rotisserie.
Friday was hot, but it was worth it. Got the cowl removed and mocked up my new fuse panel. SO MANY SPOT WELDS! I think I found my water leak... Surprisingly, the flat side was worse than the hat side.
With all those cans on shelfs it looks like your doing it in a store between isles That fuse panel is intresting. You doing a total rewire?
