The grill, the hood, the front bumper filler (stone guard) the tailight panel, tailights, and emblems, front bumper on earlier cars. Other than that , they are all the same parts.

so it was all just cosmetic stuff. nothing mechanical? would you happen to know about the difference between the models like the regular maverick and the grabber or the comet and the comet GT? thanks for your help!

99% of the parts interchange throughout the comet/maverick between all years.

heck my maverick is like 15% comet parts.

Dave has it correct, and every part listed above is harder to find than their Maverick counterpart.

One of the things I have found out since I have started building my cars is that more people have kept Maverick parts over the years than they have Comets.

    Stripes, Scoops, & Spoilers.

The Grabber & GT had them, the standards didn't. Grabbers could be ordered with either a 6 or a V8, while the GTs had V8s.

I believe I know where there is an early small Comet front bumper in excellent condition, with holes for bumper guards. Not sure if it is still there, but it very well could be. I thought it was a Mav bumper at first, until I saw the deeper Vgroove in the middle. Ha! If anyone needs one like that, I can PM you guys when I get back on, in the order you reply, about where I saw it.

And all of us Maverick guys keep buying Comets and parting them out for our Mavericks so the Comets are starting to be hard to find. Never know...I might have to break down and part out one of my Mavericks one day.

I wouldn't say 99%. It might be closer to 75%-80%. I seen too many small changes and I don't part these cars out like some guys on the board. I have seen 3 different window regulators, parking light/grille mounting hardware, different ends on the throttle cables and gas pedals, 3 different charcoal canisters, back seats, seatbelt buckles, fuel tanks. It would be interesting to see a complete list of what changes were made. I bet it would be a few pages long.

302's are all that came in them for factory v8's, 289's fit and 351 can be made to fit fairly quickly. Other than that you would need a mustang 2 front suspension setup.

I guess 100% interchange concourse is not what i meant. But i can only think of 2-3 things that you cant actually make fit . Anything else you can retrofit, and with these cars its not even that difficult. That's why i love them so much.
