    That sucks. :(

Seriously remember what I said about break in on new parts also. I've read it all over the internet. Lack of zinc on oils has wiped out a bunch of new stuff....mainly cams.

I love this thread and the way you document every step with pics! :thumbs2: I have tried to do that with mine also. I missed a few things along the way, but have most of them in a scrapbook that I leave out open when showing my car. Keep it up, it's looking good! :tiphat:

Praying for dry weather tomorrow so I can start on the rear brakes! My wheel cylinders came in today but I am still waiting on the cables.

Worked my tail off today and sweated about 5 gallons...but I cleaned up the garage and temporarily moved my Cyclone outside so I can work on the Maverick inside. About all I actually did to the Maverick today was put on the flat center caps on the rear....they finally came in.

So nice to NOT be working in gravel! Started tearing down the rear brakes and after letting a little penetrant soak...every fitting came loose with no problems. Thanks to who ever post the idea about using a fuel line clamp to get the parking brake cables loose...makes it sooo easy! I've got new NAPA parking brake cables and all new rear brakes and hoses going on as soon as I get this stuff cleaned up.

Then I'm redoing the frt brake lines so I can use 70 Mustang brake hoses....then a new Wagner master cylinder. And if all goes well, I may actually have brakes!

Got the new rear brake hose on....since this is a 73 model Maverick rear end...that's what hose I ordered. I feared something might cause it not to work on my 70 model but it was a perfect fit. I also replaced the axle vent. The old one was stopped up and dry rotted.

Not sure what the deal is with these new emergency brake cables...but they wouldn't work on the designated sides. I had to swap them side to side. Maybe they were boxed wrong?? My adjusting rod is really rusty so I cut the end off and welded it to a new piece of threaded rod. I repainted the equilizer and cable connector so I'll see if it all works out ok tomorrow.
