are the 71 and 74 maverick grabber bumpers interchangeable without modifying the radiator support or bumper brackets? :bananaman
you need the small bumper mounts plus the valance, never done this but I am pretty sure you have to make a small notch in your fender on each side, try the search button on this board, there has been quite a few threads about it, it is a nice mod imo
I've read somewhere, on the forum, where you can notch the small 71 bumper filler piece instead of the 74 fenders.
Just curious why you say to keep the big bumpers? Mine is also a 74 grabber, white with orange stripes and I LOVE my small bumper conversion:bananaman
the later two tone cars just look better to me with the big bumpers like the 74/75 grabbers and the 76 stallion. If its just a solid color car the small bumpers fit it best. Just my tastes in things i guess.
I have a 77 mav and I just moved the front bumper in 3 inches today. I painted the remaining valance semi-gloss black, as I did the grill, and it turned out great. I don't have pictures yet but it will be at the Everett meet this weekend. It only took 3 or 4 hours. There is a little cutting and welding involved, but not that difficult if one has a few skills.
There are pictures in my images. There are 4 pics before and 3 or 4 after. There is another thread where I explain how I did them. I have also moved the rear bumper in 1.5 inches. The pics of the rear arn't posted yet. they are still in hte camera.
