The thing that amazed me is finding a Maverick at a car show - period:dancing:

I sat with the owner for a half hour or so and, as the spectators would walk down the track looking at all of the cars, once they looked in the direction of the Maverick, it was like a magnet drew them right to it. Everyone, that I listened to, knew it was a Maverick and had favorable comments for the car. Some that left the car would walk right past the Mustang and Nova that were next in line. It gave me a good feeling that I owned one of these cars. :thumbs2:

I gathered that people are genuinely happy to see something different.

Lee is/was a member of the Fairlane Club of America. He ran the former Hubert Platt '64 Thunderbolt in 1965 and totaled it. He later rebodied and restored it, but I believe he may sold sold it at Barrett-Jackson last year or so.

That was cool talking to him yesterday - what a wealth of knowledge he has to offer :dancing:

I did Google his name today and also came up with the Georgia Shaker T-Bolt. I asked him for a card for his phone number but he said he gave up having cards when he retired from the garage business and neither of us had a pen. I would have liked to see what he has in his garage at his house :)
