Tail Panel Trim - Should I or Not?

Here's a pic with the trim photoshopped in and one without. I hate the idea of drilling a dozen holes in new paint, so I'm leaning towards leaving it without...

 

I like the panel trim. I'd probably say differently if the panel had been blacked out.

I'm inclined to leave it as-is, at least for now. It does look a bit "busy" as Craig stated and not having to drill holes is a plus...

 

How about the three piece set that goes on the trunk lid and ends? I wonder if those fit..I am hoping it will for mine.

 

I was going to suggest the same. The trim you mocked up is the later, big bumper tail panel trim that sits closer to the lights and doesn't intergrate with the early bumpers. I think the earlier deck lid and quarter extension trim that is further away from the lights would avoid the 'busy-ness' of the later style trim and look cleaner while still adding a little 'flash'

My 2 cents.

 

I would say, paint the tail panel black and no trim.
