What kind of speeds are u running w/ that 4:11 and C4? That must be a great fan not go over 200 w/ stock rad and 4:11 gearing.
Nothing to do with the fan at HWY speed. It doesnt run. Rad has enough airflow at speed to cool. Never been over 200 even with the old 7 blade flex fan and no shroud. I drive to work 60-65 MPH. 3000-3400 RPM. No issues. Not everyday of course but a couple of times a week. You have to realize the engine is only 9.5:1 The car is running the same temps as it always did before the electric. No difference except I dont have that deadly piece of metal spinning around with no shroud. I wouldnt expect it to run hot. Its very streetable and gets lots of maintenance, TLC and adjustments. I also believe that my hood scoop opened up to the air breather getting that cool air into the carb helps with the heat/pinging etc. Its hard on an engine sucking in that hot under hood air.
We got the part number traced back and heres what we found. We looked up the part number today and the fan fits 2004-2007 Jeep Liberty/3.7 The only unanswered question was what I ran into with the wiring. They come with a 2 prong connector single speed fan and a 3 prong connector 2 speed fan. Both are in the wiring diagram for 2006. AC or HD cooling maybe?? I ran the 3 prong on low speed. The high speed wasnt much faster with a bit more current draw. The low speed moves more than enough air for my car. Looked at my buddies 2006 3.7 and it has the single speed fan with AC. Went on a nice log drive yesterday. 90 degrees out with high humidity. Car stayed 190-200 city and HWY. So far so good with this set up.
From how I remember the Taurus fan motor being moved I would say no on this one. The fan is about 1/4" from my rad core as it sits. Its pretty much a perfect fit. The fan on this unit is fairly deep in its design. It has nice wide blades and moves a lot of air. I'm really happy with the airflow and the 21 amp draw. The Liberty's dont run a mechanical fan so this one has to move air. (early Liberty's with HD ran clutch fan and electric) I have about an inch to the water pump pulley bolts. The fan assy. comes out in no time thanx to the speed nuts I installed. Not sure how or if this fan would fit with the Aluminum rads.
Hello: Looks really nice. I wanna do the same with my Mav. It is a Jeep Liberty 3.7 2004 fan. Is it the same that yours?
It does look different. I did trim a fair bit off mine at the top and bottom. Used my die grinder and cut off wheel to get the fit just right.
