I bought a front spoiler a LONG time ago, and I am looking to finally install it on my '72 mav. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to go about installing it on my car. When I think of spoilers, or ground effects, I think of the front clips that cars today use, and how they clip into holes that are already found underneath the car.

When I got underneath the car, its hard to imagine what I should do to attach the spoiler. Its a fiber-glass reproduction, if that helps. I hope I bought the right one. Like I said, I bought it well over 5 years ago from the midwest (maybe from that MAS place everyone on here knows about?), and I think I am SOL if its not the right one. Thanks for your help!

It's probably the right one. Post a pic if you want and I can probably tell you by looking at it. You pretty much just have to find a position where it fits best and start from the center and work your way out. I've installed a few of them over the years. It's not too bad once you get started. I drill the hole for the center and get it sitting level. I suggest taping it in place once level because it's hard to see what's level when your underside drilling holes. Drill your second and third holes about 24" on each side to fasten it down. Stand back and make sure it's where you want. If it looks good I suggest putting a hole every 8-10 inches apart. If this spoiler is like most of the ones I used from MAS it will not fit real well on the outside corners. Not much you can do about it unless you can do Fiberglas surgery which I did on the one I am presently using. Good luck with it. If you decide against using it I might be interested in purchasing it from you.

I can post it here: rayzorsharp@prodigy.net
Oh, you should be able to post pics when you have at least 10 post count. You're at 6 right now. And yes, you will be drilling holes in your valance.

I figured it was, because I remember having it shipped to me from Michigan or Minnesota, or wherever that place was a LONG time ago. When I got it, I was in the process of getting body work done to it, so I set it aside until I had time to mess with it.

When I went to look at how it would fit yesterday, I was like "this doesn't seem right at all". and I knew if it was wrong, I was out of luck because I bought it a really long time ago.

Like I asked before, I have to drill holes through the lower, front valance to do this? I don't use holes that are already there (like new cars do)?
