ok so here is my dilema im going to rebuild the roller motor in the mav this winter and i want to get to around 400 to 425 hp already getting a set of afr 185 outlaw heads bigger roller cam 1.6 or 1.7 roller lifters and a 650 double pumper carb. 30 over if needed, air gap intake.will have some machine work done on heads and intake to get them match ported. i think that should get me close.possibly a 331 stoker kit also.if any one has or knows of any good build articles please pass them along.also adding all new arp bolts to handle n.o.s if i decide to run it want to beef up the bottom end and whole motor to handle it.just in case i use n.o.s.
    thanks john

Lots of info out there on how to build a 400hp 302 just do a google search.

Key to getting your desired level of hp will be in the heads, cam and induction set up, which it sounds like you already have an idea on what you are going to use.

I have spent many hours researching things on the http://sbftech.com/ website a lot of good info. Spend a little time and see what you think

Mustang Monthly is doing one right now, using the Summit stroker block. Look for the October 2010 issue, for the first installment.

Don't forget that the exhaust is just as important as the intake and heads to make power.

sounds good. there are guys with stock 5.0 shortblocks, with aluminum heads and 150-200 shot running mid to high 6's in the 1/8
