Well had the Mav at work today so I figured I'd give it a good look over. Alls good except the right strut rod bushing has failed. The bushing has started to break up and has lost tension on the washers. I havent noticed it driving yet but I'm sure it will get worse fast. Have a MOOG kit at work first thing tomorrow. Looking forward to getting them in. Its always nice to improve the drive-ability of the car. They dont look that old but the one bushing is gone. They were fine at the start of the season. Do those inspections guys.
I hear ya Darren, my front passenger shock needs to be changed in the worst way, i didn't need to check it to find out as it told me all by it's self just by all the noise and thumping it makes.
KYB shocks work great. That's what I had in Bucky. You correct Darren. Keep an eye on those "rare rides" of y'all's. On a side note, I got to sit in Bucky friday night. My buddy had it out and I went and had a coffee with him. I shouldn't have done it because it has re-ignited my passion for a comet and it won't be easy putting that fire out.
That's all I need, help fanning the flames. You're right though. A truck, trailer and some $$$ and I could be grooving down the road in my 6th comet or my 1st maverick. The wife may have something to say about that though...
I just bought all new "Moog" bushing and ball joints for my front suspension. The folks at the Firestone/ Bridgestone tire/repair shop says they were all tight and the car drives and aligns ok. From my inspection and opinion the upper ball joints are original "has rivets" 78K miles on them. The rubber is still in tact. The lowers, the boots are shot. In other words I feel better having all of them replaced and then I know what on the car and feel confident I won't have wheel seperate for lack of gud judgement and responsible maintainance.
I don't know about that Darren. I buy the mustang for her (????) and she goes and buys a bike. She is a great wife though and she would support the choice if I wanted another car. But thanks for all the support guys. We'll see after xmas.
