I like them the way they are, but then I like chrome. Maybe when you get the rear bumper on it'll look different.

BTW... Mail's ready to go out tomorrow.(y)

The chrome looks good but personally, I'm patrial to the blacked out tail light trim when the tail panel is also painted black. :)

Flat black, paint the tail light trim. Shinny/gloss black, leave them chrome.

Well..I guess before alot of us chime in, could you give us some overall input on your direction on color combo and overall look for the Mav?

..but as it stands, I'm gonna try to turn you on to the best of both worlds.
You ever thought of Black Chrome??:thumbs2:

I wouldn't make a decision until you have the bumper and spoiler on. But these tail lights are cheap enough to have a couple of sets so you can try it both ways.

I left mine shiny. I painted the panel semi-gloss black rather than flat.

I decided to leave mine shiny but I only have the center panel blacked out. Too many variables car to car. I'd grab a cheap set and paint them black for your car then you can try both sets.
Or you can throw some black tape on them to try the look.

The car is gonna be Ford bright red with a black vinyl top and black grabber stripes... Getting a 2ND set is a good idea, and black chrome sounds like a neat idea too...

I'm partial to the un painted, but I have seen a few in a semi gloss black that look really good.

Mine are not chrome...they are anodized aluminum. I "didn't" sand them and painted them semi flat but didn't like the black look so I stripped them with paint remover. Had I liked the black look, I would have repainted them and sanded the bezels so the paint would adhere better.

I guess I would go with what ever is correct for the car. Mine is going to have the 70 Grabber upgrades but no side stripes. So I'm thinking I'll black out the rear like a 70 Grabber and leave the bezels shiny. On a 71 Grabber I would go black.

I like them the way they are. Good contrast.
