Nice job on the stero setup. I have no suggestions on extensions - just whatever u like. This is what I have. Straight extensoins. I acquired the car this way. The only changes I made to exhaust sys was to immediately remove the Cherry Bomb tube mufflers "To much noise for old guys - at least for me.

Nice car MOJO! I'll probably go with some straight extensions just thought I'd see if there's anything else out there I will really fall in love with.

I like exhaust tips similar to Craig's ... angle cut pipe that ends halfway between the bottom of the valance and the outermost edge of the bumper when viewed from the side.

Craig ... that chassis is too clean. :thumbs2:

I was entertaining thoughts of going with some oval-shaped stainless steel tips next time around that are also angle cut. My pipes go outboard of the axle and fall roughly under the outboard taillights. Oval tips echo the shape of the Comet taillights somewhat.

    Current set-up ...

Sorry if the pic doesn't link to a bigger version ... I have tried inserting this twice now ...

    You Tube Video

My brother made a video of my car. It will coming home to me this week while I look for that money tree, win the lottery, come into an inheritance, etc. Hopefully I'll find that pile of money and have it ready for cruisin in the spring.

Enjoy the video. Turn up the speakers - I love the sound of the car.

    Seat Track Shields

My brother decided he didn't like the looks of the fabricated seat tracks he built when you opened the door and looked at the seat. So he made a paper template for a cover and made them from sheet metal. I also added some seat covers I got for $5.95 at the local hardware store. I told my wife I could save a bunch of money on redoing the interior by just using the seat covers but she ain't buying it.

Sheet metal seat track sight shields. Held on to seat tracks with velcro for easy removal and exact positioning once carpet is installed.

Nice concept on the sheet metal covers there. They ought to hide the tracks nicely.

Not sure that I would have painted them the accent color though. Kind of makes them stand out, and their purpose is to understate, not to draw attention.

What color carpet are you going with? If your carpet is going to be that color, then they are right on. I had light-colored carpet in a car once ... ruined it in about two weeks  .... never again ...

Carpet will be Dark Moss Green. I am going to let it up to my interior guy to determine if they should be carpeted or not. If they will be carpeted we can easily sand blast the paint off so carpet adhesive will stick to the sheet metal.

    Coming Home

    Happy Day!:jumping:

My car came home yesterday about 1:45. Dan is done with his part of project the rest will wait for that old money tree to start growing. I felt like I was 40 years younger and this car is even better than the original one. It was like Christmas.

I even took my wife for a spin around the block. You don't realize how windy and cold it can be driving a car without a windshield in 50 degree temperature. We had the heater blowing full blast and suffered through it - well not really suffered we enjoyed the heck out of it!

My gallery is full, so any more pictures I do post in the future will have to replace some of the more boring ones. As mentioned earlier in the thread you can always go to my brother's Flickr site to see all of the pictures. Future posts will slow down considerably since there won't be a lot of progress in the next few months, and we're getting close to winter here in Michigan so the car will be bundled up so she/he doesn't catch cold. I have to figure out if my car is a he or a she. Do you guys refer to your babies as a HE or a SHE? Anyway here's a couple of pics.
