i am debating whether or not to redo my bench seat or put 66 mustang bucket seats. what all would i need to do to have them fit? i like the 66 mustang seats because they are lowback, thank you
I have a set of low backs from a mustang in my comet, they will go in, but have patients. I would gladly trade my low backs for some proper high backs for the comet, but thats because they hurt my back during long drives.
I like my bench with my floor shifter. Not a fan of low back buckets. Unsafe. You really dont want to get rear ended with low back seats. I wouldnt even consider them.
I went with 71 Mustang buckets and they really feel good. I feel like I sit a little deeper than when it had the bench.
I like bench, it's comfy! Although, I was looking at the buckets in my wife's Escape, and may try to find a set of those for one of my other Mav's...If not, I've got some 86 Mustang GT seats...
i would say bench, especially for the nostalgia like smegnl said. and i find it comfyer(if that's a word) than bucket seats. i'm gonna get mine reupholstered
Bucket seats, more comfortable and sportier than a bench. I used '71-'73 Cougar buckets for the Sprint and put '70 Cougar buckets in the red Comet GT. The '70's are even more comfortable than the '71-'73's. The '73's are very comfortable, though. I just completed an 1800 mile trip in a set a couple of months ago. It is your car. Do what you feel suits you best. Jim
I just had my front bench rebuilt and reupholstered. Fast Ed's Interiors. Ed has been on "Overhaulin" he does flawless work. Awesome job. $630.00. (400.00 labor, 230 materials) The seat was real saggy and ripped. Looks beautiful now. I'm sitting higher though, it'll take some getting used to.
