Judging from all cars you have $ must not be a huge concern for you either. Dang thats allot of rides. I can't see how that car could have been much more to build than some members have spent

not a big fan of the spectre mav, but i do have respect for the work that went into it. its just good to see a maverick at sema. maybe this and the up coming fast and furious movie will get our cars some more attention.

Other than the NASCAR front dam w/splitter and the huge side mouldings whats wrong with it. I'm not huge fan of GM style Cowl hoods either. At least not on a Ford. Too many differnt looks trying to be done all at the same time I guess.

I love the engine setup in that car. It just goes to show that there is a replacement for displacement. I think in the future more guys from my generation will be putting turbos using small engines. And some do it cheaper then an all out NA build. In the future i wanna do a how to turbocharge a maverick article. The only issue is that not a lot of people are willing to modify a carb. Then put in the engine bay size and it makes it more cumbersome. Thats when a smaller engine comes into play. Currently im doing research on the 4V head swap for the Ford 2.3. I mean if a 18 year old honda guys can make a 1.6 four cylinder run 11s for less money than it cost to buy a pair of AFR heads why cant we? And i know that a lot of older guys prefer the big motors but in this generation we grew up on small motors so i dont think that would be an issue. In the future some of us have to continue to keep the Hot Rodding culture alive. And i see a trend towards smaller engines with turbos. And mavericks have a good start point with the six cylinders. Just needs more reseach and development. The late 250 head can be made to flow as much as an OZ head with a little work so that can save money over an aluminum unit. I havent had much time to post about my build because im busy helping out friends with their projects and learning. This past year ive learned so much about turbos. I hope someday we`ll even have a turbo section on this forum.

Try a Mercruiser 4 cyl they use a single 385 series head. You can probaly find one on a midget racing site. When I was into sprints and midgets they were the hot set up. Besides what would scream coolness more than a Mercruiser 4 cyl topped with a Jon Kaase Boss 9 head?

You would be the envy of the car prom

The problem with that is the price. I know those engines are kinda rare. At least i have never seen one at a junkyard or for sale locally. And Kasse makes some jaw dropping parts but there not cheap. And lets face it most of us maverick owners arent wealthy :D I like the Lima 4 platform. 2.3 and even 2.5s are plentyfull. The Volvo 4V head is pretty easy to find. And after making it work it still comes out to less than an aftermarket edsslinger head. Plus 4V heads love boost. If you`ve ever driven a blown mod motor you`ll know what i mean!

Merc 3.7s aren't as hard to find as you might think. Found a couple on CL even, and at least you would only need one Boss 9 head.

That look is not my cup of tea...the side moldings and splitter look out of place. It is a nice car.

Get rid of the motor, the splitter, and those ugly seats, and it might look ok......

I kinda like the front air dam... from the front only though. Its kinda like seeing some of those hondas with just the front nose from a ground effects kit. It leaves it looking unfinished. The side molding arent bad if you look at them as a stripe kit, but thats incomplete as well. The seats fit the motor/ground effects crowd so they kinda belong to the car. In the end, I'm happy to see a mav at what is arguably, the coolest most innovative car show on the planet... but I kind of wish it was my car instead. :D I bet there are a lot of car owners with various makes and models that feel the same way about the vehicle representing them at the show. We are not alone.

Oh and the wheels on this car??? Prob the most costly part of the entire build. They are nice.
