Moved leaf springs?

    anyone on here moved there leafs inside the frame rail and put in mini tubs

    I did in a pinto I had 6" per side . pretty simple shouldnt be any harder on a mav

    ive done few other cars. nova II, d50 and a few more. not a problem doin it just lookin for some measurements to skip all that bs. ill check the article. thanks though

    I will be under there today and get a pic or three. It looks terrible but it works. I made a setup like used on mopars.

    Yup, 3" per side! :thumbs2: That much requires shaving the outer frame rails and relocating the axle snubbers too...

    i dont currently own any shocks right now but I plan to run them in the factory positions

    RAsalkirk what did you do for shackles in the rear or did u just run then in stock position?

    I used the outer half of the stock shackle and made new inners from 1/4" plate and a longer (grade 8) bolt. This pic will give you the idea, it's before weld-out and reinforcing braces and new urethane bushings were added.

    Competition Engineering used to make subframe connectors with the spring mount made into them. I copied it and dud my own years ago. Car has been turned into a round tube back half, so no good pics.
